Non-Moto: Fake Plastic Love
M o n d a y ,   J a n u a r y   5 ,   2 0 0 9

Do you know that song Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead? I don’t know why but I can’t move passed the idea that the trees are fake plastic and not fake comma plastic trees. I don’t think that the comma is necessary and it may in fact be grammatically correct to forgo said comma but it still vexes me. I’m also strangely obsessed with the fact that Tom Yorke has that wonky eye that seems to be in a perpetual state of almost winking. That and he looks a liiiiiiittle too much like a gelfling from the Dark Crystal but that is a whole other conversation for another time.

The Lord's Prayer Rock
M o n d a y ,   S e p t e m b e r   8 ,   2 0 0 8

Though it may be difficult to read in the photo I've posted, this is the Lord's Prayer (the unabridged version) chiseled into a rock.

I guess my trip to Vermont over the weekend was rather filled with serendipitous events. I’ve passed this rock on many occasions from the other direction so I’ve never noticed it before.  Maybe you only see things when you’re ready.

Bristol, Vermont.

The Monkey Business of Riding in Vermont
M o n d a y ,   S e p t e m b e r   8 ,   2 0 0 8

As I was riding along near Salisbury, Vermont I rather unexpectedly passed this giant gorilla holding a Volkswagon Beetle.

Sadly what I didn't know until I just did a quick search on the web was that you can actually sit in the gorilla's hand. I guess another ride to Vermont is in order!

Three Sisters Garden
S u n d a y ,   S e p t e m b e r   7 ,   2 0 0 8

On the way up to Vermont this weekend, we stopped off to visit the Tin Man of Goshen, Massachusetts. I didn't even know that he had a name, really. I usually just see him out of the corner of my eye as we are whizzing by. On Friday afternoon as we passed him, I looked in my mirror and saw Kenny nod, with that we pulled a quick u-turn and stopped for a visit.

The tin man will probably be the thing that draws many a traveller to stop, but the real gem of the stop is everything else that lives in the yard and on the building. It is a veritable feast of repurposed material artwork.

The most striking aspect of our stop was the garden that is hidden from view of the roadway. It is the work of  man on a mission, Richard whom we had the good fortune of talking to for a few minutes.

I love meeting people who follow their hearts. Its such a simple concept that seems to elude so many of us~

Check Richard and his work out here: http://www.threesistersgarden.com/

Jersey City Muffler Man - Fuggedaboudit

Anyone that has ever seen the Sopranos opening credits will recognize this fella who stands underneath the Pulaski Skyway in Jersey City, NJ.

There is a pair of yellow fiberglass pants that lurks near by~
